Certain characters are voiced with archive audio from their respective TV shows or movies as opposed to newly recorded dialogue, allowing the characters to talk with the voice of the respective actor that portrayed them despite said actor being deceased or unavailable.
This method is most notably used for most characters from Ghostbusters, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Harry Potter and Mission: Impossible, all characters from The Simpsons and for certain characters from Doctor Who, The LEGO Movie and The Lord of the Rings.
