Big the Cat is one of the non-playable characters in LEGO Dimensions, from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
Background[]
Big the Cat is an anthropomorphic cat from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Unlike many other Sonic characters, Big is laid back and usually avoids adventuring, preferring a more relaxed lifestyle with his best friend Froggy. Big's hobby is fishing and he spends most of his time fishing in rivers and lakes with his friend Froggy. Froggy is known however to run off causing Big to chase him. Despite his relaxed nature, Big is extremely loyal and will do anything to protect his friends including Froggy but also his teammates Amy Rose and Cream the Rabbit (the members of team Rose). Big is a powerful character capable of throwing cars and smashing boulders much heavier than he is, his incredible bulk makes him highly damage resistant and he is capable of surviving conditions that would be hazardous to others like high energy fields or toxic gases. However, because of his strength and bulk, Big doesn't posses any super speed powers. Despite this, he is still an excellent fighter when he needs to be.

Big was first seen with the members of Team Sonic (excluding Sonic) being captured by Doctor Eggman. After Sonic releases the team and the Device is activated, he, Shadow, and Knuckles were sucked into a rift. He is later rescued by Sonic in the rift with the other members. He tells Sonic that he had seen a chaos emerald in the Labyrinth zone, and Sonic goes to retrieve it.
He also serves as the level's Citizen in Peril in the Secret Area. To rescue him, you must use a character with the Technology Ability.

- Interestingly, he is voiced by Oliver Wyman, who previously voiced the character in the Sonic X TV series and most Sonic the Hedgehog video games released from 2005 to 2010 instead of Kyle Hebert, his voice actor beginning with the Nintendo DS version of Sonic Colors.
- He is the only Citizen in Peril to be a big figure.
- Big will occasionally reference the Sanic meme when approaching him after finishing his quest.
