Franchise | Midway Arcade |
Coin-Op is a Midway Arcade location featured in LEGO Dimensions. It appears in the level, Retro Wreckage.
Background[]
While no backstory has been applied to this location, it is stated on the LEGO Dimensions Bulletin Board that Gamer Kid frequently patronised the arcade prior to its closure [citation needed]. It is also likely that the arcade was very popular at the time judging from the intro to Retro Wreckage.
Retro Wreckage[]
Due to Lord Vortech's dimensional tampering at the time, the effects caused the defunct arcade machines inside the building to bring the dormant game characters to life, as well as corrupting a set few such as the G-6155 Spy Hunter. This coincidentally occurred whilst Gamer Kid was playing Defender on his smartphone while walking down the street. The awakened game characters break out of the arcade, with the G-6155 Spy Hunter attempting to run over Gamer Kid as well as the non-corrupted game characters running loose throughout the city. After venturing into the arcade, Gamer Kid meets the Arcade Master, the latter challenged him to attempt to defeat the corrupted characters and send them back into their respective games.
