The Emerald Coast is a beach found near the Station Square Hotel. Emerald Coast usually has many beach chairs scattered about and plenty of wooden bridges to walk across. Many of Doctor Eggman's robotic monkeys are spread throughout the different parts of the beach, throwing various bombs from the trees and bridges above.
However, the one thing Emerald Coast is most known for is its killer whale, the Orca. When the Orca spots someone in its area, it will usually get violent and attempt to attack and chase anyone that they come across, destroying any bridges in the area in their attempts to catch their prey. Even if you're able to escape, many of the bridges won't be as lucky, causing you to have to take detours if you want to get back to Station Square.
- Sonic's line at the beginning of the stage ("Have I been here before? Yep, now I remember!") is a reference to his first encounter with the Orca in Sonic Adventure.
