Battle Arenas are locations featured in LEGO Dimensions. Battle Arenas feature videogame competitive split-screen local gameplay that can allow up to 4 players. These can be activated in the open Adventure Worlds of the corresponding franchises through the Year 2 minifigures of Waves 6 to 9 with their new translucent orange bases.
Each Battle Arena has four different gameplay modes with their own set of traps, special powers and interactive environments that makes them stand out from each other. Each Year 2 pack will feature Battle Arenas different from each other, including packs that come from the same franchise.
Gameplay Modes
Capture the Flag
- Capture the opposing team's flag to earn points. Bring opposing team's flags back to base and score a bonus. Don't forget to protect your own base and flag!
Base Bash!
- Bash the weapon into your enemy's base to knock them out of the game!
Objective
- Complete mission objectives to earn points.
Tick, Tag, Boom!
- Tag the bomb to your opponents and don't be riding it when it explodes!

Battle Shop
The Battle Shop is a new feature which allows players to buy Gold Bricks to improve and change the gameplay of the Battle Arena to their liking.
Trivia
- The addition of Battle Arenas makes LEGO Dimensions the first LEGO Game to have four players and competitive play.
- Each Year 2 Adventure World has a gateway acting as quick-access to the game mode. The gateway in each world is designed like an arcade cabinet.
- In each Battle Arena, there is an announcer that commentates through the whole fight. He is voiced by Brian Blessed.
- To balance gameplay, several debuffs are added to certain characters and vehicles:
- Normally invulnerable characters like Superman or Slimer will take 8 hits as normal until being warped out and respawned.
- Sonic's speed has been reduced. His homing attacks and spin dashes are also deactivated.
- Certain vehicles and gadgets cannot be used.
- In addition to this, a vehicle or gadget cannot be used while carrying the flag.
