Lex Luthor is one of the non-playable antagonists in LEGO Dimensions, from the DC Comics franchise. He is the archenemy of Superman.
Background[]
When Lex Luthor was a child, he lived in a run down area of Metropolis known as the suicide slum with his abusive parents. However, he murdered his parents by cutting the brakes to their car and collected the life insurance money. He then founded LexCorp Industries, becoming a billionaire. However, after the rise of Superman, Lex Luthor became an enemy of the Man of Steel. Lex used his wealth to take control of every media outlet in Metropolis, using it to give himself a positive public image. Eventually, he came to run the city itself. But that all changed when Superman arrived, and Lex viewed him as a serious problem for humanity as he believed if humans had to rely on an other worldly saviour instead of solving problems themselves, they would become a weaker species. Lex is cunning and has superhuman intelligence, which he uses in his struggle against Superman. Like Batman, he uses his company and his wealth to produce the equipment he needs. He also often uses Kryptonite weapons, as he is obsessed with killing Superman, and making himself ruler of humanity.
Dimensions Crisis[]
Elements of Surprise[]
Lex Luthor is one of the many villains who teams up with Lord Vortech and is sent to the Ninjago world to recover the Staff of Elements. He appears in the middle of the tournament and orders Chen to hand over his Staff. However, Chen refuses to do so and uses the staff to shoot fire at the mech as he escapes. Lex pursues him and ends up in the maze of the Underground Caverns alongside Batman, Wyldstyle, and Gandalf. He later cornered Chen in the Anacondrai Temple, but is defeated by the trio and is pulled back to Foundation Prime through a rift by Vortech, where he tells him that he was defeated by the heroes.
Trivia[]
- The Mech he uses in-game is based on the LEGO Super Heroes set: 6862 Superman Vs Power Armor Lex, which was released in 2012.
- Clancy Brown, who voiced Lex in LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, as well as almost all of Luthor's appearances in the DC Animated Universe (DCAU), did not reprise the role. Instead, Travis Willingham, who voices Superman in the game, provided the voice for Lex.
- During the level Elements of Surprise, in the maze section, you can hear Lex repeatedly ranting throughout the maze. This is ironic, as he put Superman in an identical situation in Superman 64.
- In Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, the right hand of Lex's robot mech was originally holding a deconstructor. What became of it is unknown.
