Mecha Sonic is one of the non-playable characters in LEGO Dimensions, from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
Background[]
Mecha Sonic was one of Doctor Eggman's first attempt to make a robotic copy of Sonic. He was made for the purposes of defending Eggman's strongholds from Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails particularly the Death Egg. Mecha Sonic failed to stop Sonic and Tails and was damaged in the process. However, unwilling to give up, Eggman continued to make new versions of Mecha Sonic in the hopes of stopping them all of which failed with the last one being defeated by Knuckles. The original version nicknamed "Silver Sonic" is held in a stasis tube in one of Eggman's bases. Unlike Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic wasn't built to copy or mimic Sonic and was simply designed to look like him boasting his own abilities and powers.
In Sonic Dimensions, he is the second boss to fight in the space part, after Robo Sonic.
