The Palantir is one of the Foundation Elements appearing in The Lord of the Rings franchise.
Background[]
A palantír is one of several indestructible crystal balls that were used for communication and to see events in other parts of Arda, or in the past.
Trivia[]
- It is the second Foundation Element that's found on Middle-earth, the first being The One Ring.
- Gandalf scolded the others for almost breaking the Palantir when they caught it, even though the artifact was said to be indestructible.
- Humourously, X-PO uses the Palantir like a Magic 8 Ball, asking it if the heroes will save all the dimensions from certain doom, and getting the response: "Ask again later.".
