The Swooping Evil is one of the non-playable characters in LEGO Dimensions from the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise.
Background[]
The Swooping Evil is a blue and green winged dark magical creature. It appeared similar to an extremely large butterfly, but with a wolf-like skull in place of an ordinary head. When it was not flying with its spiked wings, the Swooping Evil shrunk into a green spiny cocoon.
It could be quite dangerous, as it was an encephalophage — it fed on human brains — and its tough green skin had the ability to deflect at least some spells. It secreted venomthat, when properly diluted, could be used to erase bad memories. If stung by a Swooping Evil, a person could quickly lose their minds, although the affliction was reversible.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them[]
Newt Scamander often used and showed off his Swooping Evil in the movie, as its venom was used to give muggles memory loss of magic. The Swooping Evil also helped Tina Goldstein escape death from the Death Potion by letting her jump from her chair onto it and to safety where she and Newt Scamander begin their escape out of the Magical Congress of the United States of America. It was later used to capture Percival Graves.
