The Lord of the Rings World is one of the Adventure Worlds in LEGO Dimensions, for The Lord of the Rings franchise.
Background[]
Dimensions Crisis[]
In the prologue, the Fellowship of the Ring are running from a Balrog in the Mines of Moria, as Gandalf the Grey stops the beast and falls down with it to its death, just like in the original story. However, the scene is interrupted by Batman appearing from a rift, and proceeds to save Gandalf from his death. Frodo Baggins runs to the duo, but is sucked into a rift that suddenly emerges behind him. Worried about Frodo and the fate of The One Ring he was wearing with him, Gandalf joins Batman through the rift while the rest of the Fellowship decides to wait for their return.
In Riddle-earth, The Riddler has taken over Minas Tirith while also having acquiered the Palantir, one of the Foundation Elements. Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle arrive at the front gate as they realize the place has been taken over by Mordor Orcs. The trio of heroes find a way through the barricaded entrance, where they have to unlock the gate to the Riddler by fighting various enemies from previous dimensions the heroes visited, guarding the three generators they have to destroy to open the gate's forcefield, while Riddler gives them parts of a riddle they have to solve. After passing all of Riddler's obstacles, they are asked to answer the riddle, with the answer being a Balrog that The Riddler uses to fight the trio. Using alle the powers of the Keystones they had gathered, The Riddler is defeated and cornered near a cliff, and the heroes take the Palantir from him before Riddler is pulled down by Gollum trying to climb up the cliff, as both villains fall and escape through a rift. The heroes then leave with the foundation element through a rift back to Vorton.
In a post-credits scene, the Fellowship of the Ring is seen still awaiting the return of Gandalf from his adventure.
