The Powerpuff Girls is one of the many franchises featured in LEGO Dimensions for Year 2. It is based on both the the original 1998 TV series and the 2016 reboot TV series owned by Cartoon Network and created by Craig McCracken.
Professor Utonium planned to start a family of his own by creating three daughters to raise, with the basic ingredients of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Unfortunately, the professor's clumsiness caused him to accidentally add Chemical X to the ingredients, which resulted in the creation of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. Known as the Powerpuff Girls, the three girls quickly become well-known as the heroes of the City of Townsville.
The Powerpuff Girls is one of the two Cartoon Network owned franchises featured in the game with the other being Adventure Time. Teen Titans Go! also airs on Cartoon Network, but it isn't owned by the channel. Instead, it is owned by DC Entertainment.
The Powerpuff Girls would later receive its own standalone LEGO theme in 2018, with figures of the Powerpuff Girls themselves being directly reused from their respective LEGO Dimensions sets.
