Turtloids are recurring enemies in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are turtle-based Badniks created by Dr. Eggman and function as two separate Badniks: one large unit that is able to hover and a small unit that rides the bigger one. They are always seen in pairs.
Turtloids consist of two robots: one large and one small. They are both based on turtles, hence their name. The larger, tired-looking robots possess two grey jet engines on their backside instead of hindlegs. They also have a grey metallic head with a turtle nose and front legs. They also got a large, green shell with two small arrow stickers on both sides and a yellow underbelly. The smaller turtle robots stand on the larger ones' back, apparently piloting them while hanging onto the pole set on the larger ones' shell. These smaller variants are very similar to the big ones, with the exception of being able to stand on two back feet and having more enthusiastic expressions.
Turtloids in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 are more detailed. Here, they have a more turtle-looking design and slightly larger jet engines. The top of the larger Badniks have a straighter platform for smaller ones to hang on. In Sonic Lost World, they are chubbier and the smaller Badniks have yellow pacifiers in their mouths.
- Turtloids, along with Asteron, Balkiry and Nebula, only appear in Metropolis Zone Mayhem setion in Sonic Dimensions.
